Carolina Medina is a Colombian social entrepreneur who happened to bump and fall deeply in love with the world of social innovation. While doing her Masters’ Degree at London School of Economics, she co-founded SokoText alongside four colleagues, which leverages simple technology to empower small vendors in slums while contributing to food security at the base of the pyramid. Being from Colombia and having previously worked with vulnerable populations, she has come to understand that economic empowerment is at the core of development and that improving people’s livelihoods ensures that other development aspects are also tackled. She is now very excited to lead the way for SokoText in Latin America via Colombia.
