Our First Hackathon

01 Mar Our First Hackathon

We are thrilled to announce our first Hackathon!

On April 5th and 6th, at the Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, will take place our first hackathon to bridge the gap between society’s issues and technology.

This is your opportunity to be a change maker that the world needs!

Use your talents and invest one weekend to meet with great people and solve local issues related to education, healthcare and design and technology. We welcome people of any background, or profession who want to team up and put their passions and talents to solve global problems that affect Mexico, and in particular Gudalajara.

We’re looking for the crazy ones that see things differently. We are looking for awesome people like you!

Who is a hacker?

A hacker is an innovator. Hacking is a mindset. A hacker is a person who challenges the system to make it better. Our hackathon is open to everyone: computer programmers, doctors, politicians, designers, scientists, educators and all other professionals. What matter is not your profession but your ideas and desire to create a positive impact on the world.

What is a Hackathon?

A hackathon is a competition where different challenges are solved using any method. Since the hackathon will be hosted by Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, we expect to see technology used to create innovative solutions that can be executed locally and continued to be developed after the hackathon.

The challenges should be approached thinking that  technology itself will not change the world, but the people using it. Technology is just a tool and you have the power to make it powerful.

This hackathon will have a great impact here in Guadalajara, because it’s the first of its kind, this event will gather the talents of the city in one place to solve the challenges of Hack for Big Choices. The multidisciplinary teams will choose one challenge to solve, and they will deliver a solution in less than 30 hours. This solution consists of a demo, app, web app, software or hardware solution, or any solution that will help the local community in the focus areas. You can find more information here.

Meet us in Guadalajara next weekend!
